Fairly new to Germany and expecting my first child. I’m calling my mum to stay with me and my husband postpartum. Do I really need a hebamme?

Personally it was very useful to have a hebamme. She checks on you and the baby and make sure both of you are healthy and could give you great advice and she doesn’t have to come everyday, just when you need her so no pressure. Just make sure to find a good match.
